I made a replica of the button Paul is holding because I thought it was funny. Would anybody want one? Paypal me $1.50 (to cover shipping), and I'll mail you one out. My replica is 1". My email is riggarronnie@gmail.com

Here it is:

Oooh, I think I may crumble and order one if you don't mind!
Out comes mum's credit card... I'll probably do the formal ordering and email you later tonight/tomorrow.

a-hard-days-night-paul-8 Great idea!

I love Paul's reaction. I'll just probably make one myself though.

I love it!! If I get a ticket to Paul's concert this May 28th, I might have that pic printed in a tshirt to wear it in the concert!!

My other option is having a Paul and Julian Lennon's pic in the front, and in the back that Hey Jude diagram I saw in Beatles LOL section.
BTW do you ship to another countries? a-hard-days-night-ringo-4

Mods, correct me if there is a better thread for this!

Does anybody know about the history of these 'To Hell With The "Beatles"' badges?

It really bugs me that the best version I can find of all three photos look different, like they've all had countless different filters added!

I've always assumed this would be around 1966 after the "bigger than Jesus" saga. But the haircut would suggest otherwise, as well as these additional photos with Ringo which to me look like the first US visit of 1964?

In which case, why are badges being produced saying to hell with them so early?!

Probably linked to the Stamp Out The Beatles campaign led by some Detroit Beatle dislikers which was happing in 1964. The Beatles would always joke about it and never took it seriously.

I wonder if this story is true. The dates and people involved check out.

https://www.worthpoint.com/wor.....l-52892458

There is a series of photographs captured by photographer Curt Gunther of Paul McCartney wearing one of these pins when they first come out. On September 3, 1964 during a flight from Indianapolis to Milwaukee, Paul swiped one of these anti-Beatles pin buttons from Beatles road manager Mal Evans. Evans had gotten it from flight engineer, Robert Miller, who had worn it onto the plane as a joke. One of the American Flyers Airline public relations women had made Miller take it off. With evident enjoyment Paul modeled the button for the cast and crew, clowning and garnering laughs from everyone.

Very good point, you'd think they were related.

Good find! Another great line from that badge selling ad: "with absolutely no foxing on the face and a clean backside" - I should hope so.
